In February the library was contacted in what turned into a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking two contract reports completed under contract for VDOT. They related to a Paleo-Indian jasper quarry site dating to 11,500 years ago — one of the oldest such known sites in the country, which deepened our understanding of North America's earliest human occupants. The reports were heavily cited in the literature, by other state agencies (including VDOT) but no copies could be found. We rectified that and made three files publicly accessible and are now the only known library holder in OCLC:

The table to the left adds the total number of print items borrowed by employees in VDOT districts (116), VTRC checkouts (80) and items "checked out" or "renewed" by UVA personnel and others (3), creating a hard copy borrowing total of 199.
The table below adds the number of downloads from the library's virtual collection this quarter to the circulation from the library's print holdings for a total of 3,807 items borrowed or accessed this quarter.
