Cataloging, Collections and Technical Services
COVID-19's impact on the cataloging department has been profound. Gil Kenner, head of cataloging, has ceased cataloging and many side projects to focus on fulfilling requests for services provided though other departments, including: checkouts, checkins, scanning, shipping, receiving and shelving. Kenner is more cross-trained than any other staffer and as a result this quarter he was the first to return to the library (starting June 9th) for "in-person" work. He visits one day a week to work "backstage" at the library, which remains closed to patrons (and to other staffers) for the foreseeable future.
