Library Quarterly Report FY18 Q1: July-September 2017

Interlibrary Loans (ILL) and Document Deliveries

Interlibrary lending, led by Barb Neyman, helps the library quickly locate, acquire, and deliver specialized information to VDOT employees in a way that is more effective than if the library were to attempt to acquire, catalog, and store all of the requested publications. The library continues to be a net borrowerWe use OCLC's WorldShare ILL  software to efficiently place and receive loan requests from a pool of thousands of libraries worldwide to the benefit of VDOT employees in all districts and divisions who need rare or expensive research materials.
