Spotlight: Gil Kenner Earns Master's Degree & Receives Scholarship

This quarter Library staffer Gil Kenner received the Harriet S. and Samuel K. Nash Endowed Scholarship at Drexel University and as he completed the requirements for his Master's Degree in Library Science from that University.
 

Gil has worked at the VDOT Research Library since 2014, during which time he has been enrolled as a distance education student in Drexel University's College of Computing and Informatics, working to complete his Master's degree.


Gil is responsible for managing the records in the library's EOS Library Catalog. In addition to maintenance of the catalog and original cataloging of VTRC research reports, he recently imported tens of thousands of bibliographic records for books in the Books24x7EngineeringCore and BusinessCore eBooks databases into that system.


Gil supports Circulation, Interlibrary Loans and Live Chat with patrons. In addition he built more than a dozen LibGuides and creates and maintains 
LibAnswers FAQs, Gil continues to be a huge asset to the library!

 


 

This quarter Amber Anglada, who graduated in the same library science degree program at Drexel as Gil Kenner, departed the library after working with us for one year.
