The following instructions will help you "reset" the password on your new Skillsoft Books account, which is required for mobile access, access using other browsers and off-network access. The prerequisite for steps listed on this page is described on the First Login page. Haven't completed those steps yet? Please Jump back to "First Login" and do that before returning to this page to continue.
Step 1. From your work computer (using any browser) go to https://vdot.skillport.com
You will be prompted for a Username and a Password, as shown here:
1. Your VDOT Username is typically your Firstname.Lastname.
2. After you enter your VDOT Username, select the "Forgot your password?" link.
Step 2.You will see the following screen. Select, "Send me a new password" as shown below:
NOTE: When you follow this step, be sure you have access to your VDOT e-mail account, since that's where a temporary password will be sent.
After selecting the option shown above, you should see the words Your password has been sent to your email address. as shown below:
Step 3. Your VDOT e-mail account will receive a message from firstname.lastname@example.org (Subject line "Password Request") with your new password.
Step 4. Go back to https://vdot.skillport.com in your browser and enter your Username and your new Password, as shown below:
1. In the Username field enter your credentials as "Firstname.Lastname" Do not use your entire VDOT email address!
2. Copy the new password sent to your email account into the Password field, and select the "Log in" button.
You should now see a screen that looks like this:
Optional: At any time you can modify your password or add other personalization (like a profile picture) by going to the "My Profile" icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
