Using the EBSCO Mobile App: Using the App

Make progress on your research anytime, anywhere with EBSCO’s mobile app! This guide shows you how to find, install and start using the free EBSCO mobile app.

Using the EBSCO Mobile App

Note: The examples shown below were taken from a iPad mini tablet (not a Smartphone), which has a larger display screen than a phone. That makes most elements of the App easier to see. They may look slightly different on an Android tablet.

Home Screen

After logging in to the EBSCO Mobile App, you see the Home screen. You can return to the Home screen at any time by tapping the icon in the menu at the bottom of the screen.

From the EBSCO Mobile App Home screen, you can:

1. See Recently Viewed Resources: Swipe to the left to see the articles you have recently viewed while using the app. Tap an article to view it again.

2. Discover Recent Subjects: Select a subject in the Discover recent subjects area to execute a search of articles related to that subject. Subjects in this area are displayed based on articles you have viewed in the past while using the app.

3. See Popular content: Swipe to the left to view articles that are popular with user app users. Select an article to view it.

  2. Enter your search terms in the Search Box. As you type, the app suggests search terms you can tap to quickly run a search. In this example we're searching on "Virginia Department of Transportation" (quote marks are not needed in the actual search)

  3. Select a filter (Peer Reviewed, Full Text, Date Range) to apply it to your search. In this example, we left "Peer Reviewed" alone, but checked "Full Text" to limit search results that way, and we narrowed the date of publication range by selecting "Last 5 Years"

  4. Select Search on your device's keyboard to run the search.

  5. Your results are displayed. Select an article or book title to see the details or read the full text, when available.

Note: You may also notice that your search terms are highlighted in yellow for context at a glance.

Liking Resources

When you are logged in to the app using the Find My Organization option, Liked articles are saved until your log in expires or you log out of the app. Once you are no longer logged in, Liked articles are removed.

When you are logged in to the EBSCO Mobile app with your personal user account, articles that are Liked in the app are also saved to your personal My EBSCOhost folder and are available from anywhere you log into EBSCOhost.

To Like articles on the EBSCO Mobile App:

  1. From an article page or the result list, tap the Like icon. The article is saved and the icon changes to a solid color.

  2. If you wish to remove the article from your Liked articles, simply tap the icon again.
