Library Catalog Quick Start Guide

"Advanced Search" is the default search mode and is what you will see when you first sign in to the catalog. 

Advanced Search gives you the option of combining different categories such as 'Author' AND "Title" OR 'Subject' enabling you to search multiple terms simultaneously. 

Step 1: Select an index from the pick list (Word(s), Author, Title, Publisher, Subject etc.). 

Step 2: Type in the Term(s) you want to search for:

Step 3: Select the AND, OR or AND NOT to use between terms. In the example below we'll combine terms using AND.

Step 4: Click 'Search' to launch the search. You can also click "Clear' to clear all fields and start over.

You'll notice that search your terms will appear highlighted in the results and the number of unique records matching your terms is also displayed:
